THE HUNGRY MOON, a folk horror novel by Ramsey Campbell has been adapted for audio by Ian Winterton for Room 5064 Productions.
Ian writes: ‘It’s been a long time coming, from first optioning the book in 2019 (thanks producer Gareth Kavanagh), through Covid, many many many Cleanfeed recording sessions, but Room 5064 Productions’ THE HUNGRY MOON by Ramsey Campbell is finally available for sale at the special introductory price of £10.99 (episodes only – buying after the official launch will have higher price point but will include interviews with Ramsey and Jemma as extra, though if you buy now you still get my brother, Giles Winterton performing ‘Harry Moony’, the grim Peak District folk song that inspired the novel).
It’s four episodes, with a total run time of 274 minutes and stars Louise Jameson, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Mina Anwar and, in the lead, the mighty Jemma Moore (Host, Red Eye). With direction and ever patient guidance from Bleak December’s Anthony DP Mann, it also stars the cream of Manchester-based actors, some of whom I’ve now been working with on and and off for 15 years: Adam Grayson, Daniel Thackeray, Claire Dean, Zoe Iqbal, Nick Pearsee, Richard Bassham-Hand, Jenny Shirt, James Edward Broadbent, Anusia Battersby, Ella Claridge and – also providing a rousing rendition of ‘Harry Moony’, the Peak District folk song that inspired the novel, my brother Giles Winterton.
Art by the mighty Stephen B. Scott. Colours by Will Brooks.
